I recently purchased a boat with twin CTA8.3-M3 engines coupled to ZF IRM280A.2 transmissions.  The boat is equipped with an oil changer and when I started to service the transmissions, I was surprised to find that the lines are not connected to the transmissions.  There are two drain plugs at the bottom of the transmissions.  Do both need to be pulled to drain it properly or can either one be used?

I saw on another post where these plugs are a proprietary ZF thread.  I assume that to connect them to the oil changer pump, I will need to drill and tap the plug, hence my question.  Do I need to drill and tap them both and connect them with some sort of tee?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Blue Skies,

    Dave
