    I run a pair of 370 Yanmars (2005) LYA’s with about 1500 hours on the clock.  Just completed a full service including new intercoolers, belts & hoses, valve adj etc.  I never had boost/EGT gauges and was considering adding them.  Are they useful at this point and what should I be looking for once they are installed.   What should the boost and temp numbers be under normal operation and while cruising?  Are there maximums to be aware of and not to exceed?

    Any additional information you can provide yourself re: the engine is always valuable IMO. With Boost and Pyro, you’re looking to establish a baseline and trend that data over time as the values will “creep” over time… telling you when you need to take action i.e. cleaning the aftercooler, etc.
