Turbo Install Questions

A few questions about installing my repaired turbo on my 6BTA 330…

1.  I saw the article on the Turbo/Manifold gasket.  Does RTV get applied to both sides of the gasket or only the turbo side?  From the photos it looks like only the turbo side?

2.  Does the exhaust elbow/turbo gasket get installed dry?  I don’t have the graphite gasket.  My turbo surface is clean/smooth and I’m assuming the flange on the new Seaboard custom riser will be as well.

3.  Do I need to pre-lubricate the turbo will oil on install to avoid a dry start-up?

1. Both sides
2. Intended for dry install on perfect surfaces, some of that RTV can’t hurt.
3. Yes pre-oil the turbo top down.
