I have a 2008 QSB 5.9 425hp.  This morning the seawater pump belt shredded. I found the tension pulley bolt lying in the bilge.  I’m assuming the bolt came out, pulley wheel wobbled and belt shredded.

Is there a specified torque for this bolt or just get it good and tight?

    Thank You Gentlemen,

    Steve

The Idler Pulley bearing is obsolete per Cummins so I just bought a new pulley from Seaboard.  It appears to be an easy swap but before I start something I didn’t bring tools for, is this as easy as it looks or will I need a puller to remove the old puller?  Thank You

I’d replace the bearing too…………Simple to find  The # in on the bearing) ,  and any “hands-on” guy can change it.. This is the very early drive system.

Here’s the torque chart from the Cummins manual.  Inspect, clean and oil the threads.  You definitely want the bolt “tight.”
