I purchased Sbmars raw water service kit, aftercooler and heat exchanger. My boat is stored indoor heated so they are not winterized. Do I need to drain the system somewhere before unbolting aftercooler and heat exchanger?

The size of your catch can will be dictated 100% by the access you have under the drain. Could be stringer or ?? in the way of getting lucky and using a 5 gall bucket. May need smaller buckets that you empty into larger ones.

Capacity depends on external things you may have in the coolant loop such as bus heater, water heater…. Will be 6+ gallons.

50/50 should be fine but verify this works for your climate.

65 degF and manned every day, NICE !

    Rob,

Do I drain into a bucket? What size bucket is needed. Iā€™m not sure on the capacity. Can the coolant be reused or should it be replaced, can you advise as to the mixture and capacity.

Sorry for all the questions, I want to get this right during my first experience.

As for not winterizing I too thought it seem risky but they building is manned every day, temps are kept at 65 degrees and they have back up heat and power. I must say, it is nice and toasty in there.

Drain the seawater from the AC and HX by pulling the zincs. Drain the coolant from the HX at the drain plug beneath it. Seems risky to not winterize…
