I am working through removing the fuel cooler on my 2001 6bta5.9 330.

I didn’t realize the kit contains a 3/8 return nipple – i think i can source 1/2″ locally to match my return hose.

The fuel inlet hardware to the lift pump can’t fit since I have a relocated fuel filter to the stbd side of the engine. Can’t rock that banjo fitting aft nor will the hose reach if i swing it up forward out of the way. I will investigate getting a short hose extension to make the filter-to-injector pump connection get out of the way of the new lift pump inlet. Or will replace the entire thing. Goal is to keep it away from the raw water inpeller access.

Then I still have both a pressure sender and oil alarm on the fuel block. I could “T” them off the new oil pressure location but just saw that I could use a hose from the OLD location – that fed the distribution block – to feed the pressure switch, then use the oil gallery location to feed the alarm switch. Fewer adapters. hopefully I can make that work.

Any comments – suggestion on adapting the existing oil supply to the block onto the o/p sender would be helpful. Thread? Diameter?

I get that the kit is for a generic brand new dry cummins 6bt in the shop. But in practice, you’re on your own to adapt to what you have. Not sure I would have bought the kit if I knew that.

1/8″ npt. See attached. Yes, a bit of work, but it’s a one time deal and learning your engines that much more in the process.
