Hi,
Looking to identify an older 6BTA
See attached pic showing ESN & CPL.
Considering it for a repower on a
50’ displacement trawler style launch,
with a 4:1 reduction.
It has been marinised which suggests
it may have been manufactured as an i
industrial engine or generator?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

The engine was built/ set up as a fire pump engine —close to “constant speed” once under load –You have a CAV injection pump/fuel system that is calibrated for 208 HP at 2100 RPM.. You also have a seawater system and or cooling system that I’d have to “see” to comment on how that is plumbed–Some can be quite odd. At this point, think of it a being able to do what a 6BT 5.9 210 can do with possible less torque in the below 1800 RPM ranges do to the way the injection pump was calibrated–.. What exactly are your plans for it?
