    Sirs,

I received this error after starting up our qsb 5.9. I shut down the engine then re started with no error. The same sequence occurred the next day.

The Diesel View manual says 2265 is high signal voltage at the electric supply/lift pump circuit.

So what does this mean and how do I fix it?

    Thank You,
    Steve

When Cummins designed the QSB 5.9, they had a contest as to who could hide the lift pump, fittings and connections to where you had the give blood to R&R it.. I’m not sure who won, but result speaks for itself..

It’s all buried behind the ECM..

Can you show that 2 pin connector

    Hi Corey

I have the same issue. I agree with Tony that the pump should just get replaced (I’ll get Vaughan C to do that)

Nonetheless, I’d like to know which 2 pin connector you are referring to. I’d like to check those connections but I can’t tell which connector is the one

    Thank you in advance.

    QSB Lift pump code error

After all you do doesn’t solve it, put on a new priming pump.. 99% that is the issue as when it starts to go, it sends all types of weird codes thru SmartCraft..

Personally, I’d do that 1st, but checking all & cleaning all the connections is always the way to go on and engine this old using SmartCraft.

Electric Lift Pump for Engine Fuel Supply Circuit – Voltage Above Normal, or Sho

If the fault code is intermittent, look for causes of an intermittent open circuit, such as loose pins and bad connections. At keyswitch ON, the lift pump duty cycle ramps to 100 percent. This fault code can detect open circuit conditions only at keyswitch ON. If an open circuit condition is indicated after the engine is started (while the lift pump is already running), Fault Code 2265 will not become active.

First thing to do is to check the 2-pin connector for dirty or damaged pins….

Inspect the engine harness and electric fuel lift pump connector pins for the following:

    ā€¢ Loose connector
    ā€¢ Corroded pins
    ā€¢ Bent or broken pins
ā€¢ Pushed back or expanded pins
ā€¢ Moisture in or on the connector
ā€¢ Missing or damaged connector seals
ā€¢ Dirt or debris in or on the connector pins
    ā€¢ Connector shell broken
    ā€¢ Wire insulation damage
    ā€¢ Damaged connector locking tab

If everything looks good & clean, then see if the 2 pins to the lift pump itself measure less than 20 ohms, if so, then you’ll need to replace the electric fuel lift pump.
