Hello –

In the process of upgrading a 2000 6CTA with the sbmar CCV vent.

The new air filter is signicantly smaller – is this just a higher performance design than the older style that I removed as part of the installation?

Yes, substantially smaller with with a substantially higher flow rate at the same pressure drop.. Calling it a modern more efficient filter media design would be a fair way to define it.

Maybe 35 years ago, and company called K&N, put this type of filter media into the main stream.
