I have a 2007 Yanmar 6LPA-STP engine. I was wondering if there was any significant advantage to replacing the stock foam air filter with an Airsep filter? Would the crankcase vent the same onto the pleated filter?
Thanks for your help.

John,
Ask Tony if he still has the parts you need.

Bill and Dan,
Thanks for your suggestions. I will look into making a change from the foam filter. The above link that was sent looks like the kit is for Cummins engines not Yanmar?

I highly recommend it. I would definitely change. The riveted, foam filter is well known to be problematical.Another vote for the envirovent CCV kits Bill is referencing in the above post, simple and very effective

I highly recommend it. I would definitely change. The riveted, foam filter is well known to be problematical. The first attached picture is of the air filter freshly installed. The second is how I originally attached the breather tube. The third picture is several years later after installing Tony’s breather system. This is on a 4LHA, but the setup is the same for the 6LP.
Hope this helps

Rob,
I donāt have smoke or a lot of oil from the breather. I was just wondering if changing to the Airsep filter was worth it over keeping the stock foam one and if there was an advantage?
Thanks
I think your first sentence says it all – you have nothing to mitigate so nothing to gain as to CCV. What could be gained is a better air filter assembly than the OEM riveted cage with foam wrap. Walker sells this “air cleaner only” upgrade.

Are you getting smoke from the CCV hose or an oil soaked foam filter? What is it you are trying to eliminate or make better?
Check with Walker on this setup for the 6LP (see pic)
