Tony Athens, owner of this site, Also sells a very nice air filter or air filter plus vent system for this motor.
I highly recommend it. I would definitely change. The riveted, foam filter is well known to be problematical.

The first attached picture is of the air filter freshly installed. The second is how I originally attached the breather tube. The third picture is several years later after installing Tony’s breather system. This is on a 4LHA, but the setup is the same for the 6LP.
