I have a 370 6lya-stp on a fresh rebuild. (40hrs ago). Previously I installed a pyrometer/boost gauge by smx but never got the boost part hooked up. I assume I need a threaded nut with hose barb to connect boost tubing to gauge. The guy who did the rebuild showed me where it should go on the motor, that little unit by the air cooler. If that is correct can you point me in the right direction for tubing and that ā€œnutā€.

Also, i use my boat year round and am curious as to your recommendation for heating. I have limited to no access to bottom of the pan, or enough vertical room to install one of those coolant circulators. Previously I had used a zerostart silicone pad on the freshwater tank. It seemed to work well but Iā€™m wondering if thereā€™s a better option. Thank you

Call the shop for the boost gauge kit.Ā  Not sure what part of CT you are in but Defender Marine sells a few different heaters.Ā

Where do I buy the kit for the boost gauge? I thought it may have come with my smx gauge when I bought it but it didnā€™t. Also, what type of fireproof ā€œspace heaterā€ are guys having luck with?

Is there a place that these materials are available?Ā

So I believe this hex nut is where I need to install the hose on the motor, and threaded cap is where it needs to go on the gauge.Ā

Post some pics of where you intend to measure boost so we are sure to be on the same page.

Sounds like your best bet will be an engine room (space) heater.
