    Hi,

I have a ’99 6CTA with 2,400 hours.  While changing the on-engine fuel filter last weekend, the primer pump on the Bosch injection pump leaks when pushed, nor does it seem to pump fuel.  The engine seems to run normally, my question is can I run the boat this way for a while or is it “mission critical”.

    Thanks

    Larry

No, not mission critical as to running the engine but should not be ignored if it’s not functioning.  Bosch 2447222126 should be what you need but do verify.  And be careful of eBay and Amazon knock-offs.

I had no issues/symptoms.  I just noticed it when I changed the fuel filter.

Tony?  Cory?  Is this part “mission critical” to running the boat?

Following,  just found my 1998’s doing the same.  Part is ordered but wondering if this has anything to do with a knock I’m having.  So far it seems to not be letting the engine lose prime.  Are you getting any air in system while sitting?
