6CTA Aftercooler Maintenance

I have twin 6CTA 480CE and I am i the process of cleaning and maintaining the aftercoolers. I noticed in the video provided, that the plastic strips on the corners of the core are removed, but I never see them replaced later in the video and they don’t appear to be in the rebuild kit.  Are these necessary?  Can I purchase them separately?

We never replace them, they are not needed, remove & discard.
