    • Turbo slow to spool up

March 18, 2022 at 2:45 am This started happening after a long period of slow running (trolling Lures), now happens more often. From slow running, push throttle up nothing happens. leave it half way and rpms slowly rise, then it springs into life turbo winds up and we are up on the plane 2500 rpm.. Intercooler is clean, AF is clean, hull is clean, prop is clean, boat is not over weight.

January 24, 2022 at 12:48 pm Congrats on fixing it! I had a problem with my starter recently, sometimes I pushed the start button and it would not do anything but you would notice that smoke was comming from the starter cable so and starter was not doing anything. I changed the mag switch, cleaned everything and still did it one more time. I got scared of the situation and decided to just get new batteries and a brand new Delco 38mt starter to replace the old 42mt. My guess…

October 13, 2021 at 9:48 am Hi, Looking thru the diagrams found the “Wiring Diagram – Standard (B/C Series)”. It shows that when the ground is connected to the starter is an Isolated Ground and… ground to the engine block is a Negative Ground system. My 6BTAs have grounds attached to the bellhousing and not to the starter negative stud which makes them a Negative Ground system, I think. From a marine electrical requirements/system standpoint, what i…

October 15, 2021 at 10:13 am Excellent Tony, Thank you all for the advise. Is there anything else “electronic” wise that I need/Must have in my 6BTAs? Oil pressure sender, Coolant Temp sender, RPM Sender on bell housing, ignition On for fuel solenoid hold and ignition signal for starting and fuel solenoid pull, alternator?

June 4, 2018 at 9:20 am thanks for taking time to respond Larry. So thats what can happen, thats scarey.. Ive got every thing crossed that water did not actually get into pump., But I actually dont know for sure. Today i gave her a short run without air cleaner on, no apparent change except i did rech 2700 rpm on a prop thats one inch bigger pitch than usual , with or with out air cleaner. that doesnt make sense. so, air cleaner is fine. I pulled the aftercooler a …
