      January 16, 2022 at 7:01 am Re-powering my Cummins 6bta59 370 to exact same recon model. Original fabricator of my custom exhaust riser (15 yrs/4K hrs) tells me it is in very good condition and ok to use. I am putting on new graphite gasket and bolt kit. My question is how smooth should the face flange be that meets the turbo?

      March 28, 2019 at 6:35 am I am getting ready to purchase and install Envirovent on my single inline 6bta59 (2006). I have three questions: (1) Other than space/accessibility, what else if anything determines if I should go with the front timing cover vs valve cover install (I thought I read something about valve cover application being used for more excessive blowby)?       March 28, 2019 at 8:20 am For in line drive engines where the timing cover is towards the bow and higher up, that location works fine. For V drives, the timing cover location is too low especially when underway while the bow is riding up. The valve cover option is more universal and being the highest point is best for higher blowby engines, with the option of adding an extension.
