    • Vibration on a drivetrain between 1100 and 1600rpm

      March 30, 2019 at 12:34 pm I just bought a 2004 42ft with twin 6cta, zf 2801-v transmissions. I have launch the boat yesterday and I can feel a vibration. Between 1100 and 1600 rpm, When the rpm is in the vibration range I can see the engine shacking a little bit more than the other side. Before launch I havenā€™t took measurement of the shaft but the Prop look good, no bend or dent. Is there a pro here that could help me how to diagnose this? Boat is in the water present…

      April 1, 2019 at 3:21 am Itā€™s shaped like a rust mushroom, exhaust was leaking sea water right on it. Iā€™ll replace both on my next trip to the boat

      March 24, 2019 at 6:57 am I did a maintenance on my after oil and when I pressure test with 20psi on the water side, I see a leakage, 1 bubble every 5 seconds or so. should I get the core fix or is it normal?

      March 24, 2019 at 3:51 pm I did a bit more major damage removing mine, and a local aftercooler manufacturer was able to repair. It was just broken welds at the end not a broken tube. They flooded the end cap with solder to reseal it all. Mine tested to 30psi for 24hrs after – it cost a bit more than I liked, but far far cheaper than a new core. I’d also take the ends of the housing down to remove the pitting. I did mine via wet and dry paper, a very flat surf…
