Thx Tony!
Ordered from Seaboard and replace the Red 10 amp breaker along with connectors problem solved. After looking at the wiring diagram, was surprised at how it takes out the whole harness and effects many things. I will replace the one on my port engine and have a spare on board!! Saw another post here that it should be part of your routine maintenance to check this breaker and connectors, very good advice.

I removed the hose where you have it circled in Red. I reconnected with no issues just a little fuel leakage.

Carmen,
Just as an FYI, I purchased a 2005 Maxum 3700 CY, Twin 6BTA’s 5.9 330hp. Not sure of the weight difference of the 41′ but they have ample power. I cruise at 2400rpm (22mph)

Wow the link you provided is a very good read! I thought I was up on diesel filtering systems this takes it to the next level. I have not tried troubleshooting tank venting, great suggestion and an easy tip when the problem is occurring. Thx for the input!!

I do not have a pressure gauge on the fuel filters, my last boat did and I am considering installing an upgraded fuel filtering system. I was pretty sure when I serviced them it solved the problem as the starboard filter was horrible but then it came back. I agree with your assessment due to the random nature of the problem. The supply hoses looked fine but that is not to say something in the tank. Just want to rule out any power issue, not sure what to do about allot of crap in a tank.

If you can see growth on the bottom I assure you that can knock down the RPM’s by 20 – 30% That would be the first place to start. Then a second opinion on the engines

Thus far that is correct, each time this has occurs it is always at the tail end of a pretty long day out. I have owned the boat for 6 months. The prior owner kept detailed notes about service, maintenance and problems, which were minimal. All service seemed to be meticulously done and at regular times. Of note last year he noted in the journal “Starboard Turbo not spooling up had it removed and bench tested all was well” no other comments about what caused the issue but it seems to me that that could be the same issue I am having? “no air = no rpm’s.”?

Rick,
I also purchased a 2005 37′ Maxum with Twin Cummins 6BTA 5.9 330 Diesels. The guy I purchased from, the original owner kept very good records. In addition he supplied me with most all manuals. The one that is very helpful & detailed is the Cummins Maintenance manual B&C Series. I am sure with the popularity of these engines it is still available is:

That is also my question, I met tomorrow with the Tech to get some more detail my guess is the prior owner who did most of his own wrenching installed something wrong

No, I tried revving up in neutral, under no load, same issue it would not get above about 1500 rpm’s but at low rpm’s all seemed normal
