    Thank you for your reply. At the time we had the boat built in 2009 I was running a boatyard in VA. It was a service dealer for Cummins, Yamaha, and Volvo. So with that background experience, the choice of Cummins was easy.

    No, Cummins has already made it clear that the oil must still be changed every 200 hours.. The question I have , but did not clearly ask, is will I have less engine wear with synthetic oil, after another 5,000 hours? ?
