      October 14, 2018 at 10:20 am I wanted to get input for the following issue with my starboard engine. I recently had the alternator rebuilt.(this might be the issue) I have an on/off key ignition with a push start button at the helm. With the engine not running and when I turn the key on the power goes to the screw in type fuel solenoid and retracts the internal plunger.I get a good reading of 12v.       October 17, 2018 at 7:50 am John, Tony makes a good point. IF your answer to his 3rd question is that this is new, and the engine was shutting off fine before, the diode probably failed. Or you have a short somewhere. Did you see our wiring diagram?? Starter, Crank & Fuel Shutoff Solenoid Wiring Hope that helps.
