    • rainbow on top of water when hot or cold and white smoke

      May 25, 2018 at 7:58 am I have a cumin’s 6 BTA 5.9lt rebuilt . On the start up we get white smoke 5 to 6 minutes then it gets less but then we get rainbow on top of the water on tick over and low rpm in gear. We still get white smoke when the engine is warm as well and under load we get grey smoke. The engine temp is all good and also the oil temp . (I’ve attached a video ) (Any help is really appreciated)

      June 3, 2018 at 11:01 pm hi tony no not double washers the head had been board out to take 9 mm nozzles when they was in it was putting fuel out on top of the water, so i changed it i put adapter washers in to go from 9 mm back to my old 7 mm nozzles and it seems to have worked. no more fuel on the water all runs clear.

      February 22, 2018 at 11:51 am had a cummins 6bta rebuilt now when we start up there is loads of white smoke and leaves a rainbow on top of water,after a run all smoke etc goes but if you start next day it is back bad again. any ideas please. being told it is wrong injectors in the engine this is why all the smoke etc. pic below of what we see on water on tick over. checked filters for water all good ?? also short vid of the smoke we get just will not clear till you have a ru…

      February 25, 2018 at 11:23 am Andy, Got all the pics you send and looked the engine over really close. Should be a CPL 2205–Use this as a serial number for parts.. 45806470. Pics were very good.. Questions: Rebuild parts? Genuine or aftermarket? Did you bore all 6 cylinders? What oversize? Injectors??—- what parts nuber did you buy ? Or if rebuilt, what spec did they use? I show an injector # as 3802818 or 3897596PX Tony

      February 11, 2018 at 1:23 am hi. had my cummins 6BTA rebuilt sounds great when running took out for trials when doing around 1500/2000 rmp all good temp wise but soon as you give her full load temp go up to 200 far ease back off then the temp settles back down,again run at lower rpm no problems could this be thermostat problem,or maybe air lock any help please. cheers Andy.
