    Finally found the tag on one of my transmissions (gear boxes). A Google search didn’t turn up more than a simple chart showing gear ratio, power and torque specs. I’d like to get a better feel for the maintenance routine for them. A operator/maintenance/repair manual would be nice.

    Looks like this is an older model that has been replaced by the ZF 80A

    Fluid=Dextron spec ATF

    AMOUNT= Middle of High Low Marks on dip stick– maybe 5 quarts on a oil change.. DO NOT OVER FILL.

    Thanks Tony … I don’t think I’m going to need anything that ‘complete’ … just simple answers along the line of what type of fluid and amount – if it ever needs to be repaired I’ll let a smart guy/gal who’ll take a check to do the work :). There are somethings I’m comfortable doing – working on something as complicated as a transmission is certainly to one of those things :).

    As a quickie follow up – look what I found in the old water soaked box the previous owner left in the bilge. Like the generator manual I found a few months back, it was ‘stuck/water welded’ between a couple of other manuals.
