    Just wanted to confirm is it ok to use Rotella 15w 40 in a ZF 220 A transmission on a 330 6BTA? Also any advive on removing the 35mm filter hex nut to clean the filter. It wont budge !!

    ZF has done testing and has approved the use of 15/40 in the 220. People have been running 15/40 and have not had any issues that i know of.

    The large screen plug is something you have to be careful with. If it is the early vintage with the cast aluminum housing they have been known to break right off with not that much torque. The newer version go into the cast iron housing that can take more force. The link below shows the 2 different styles. The ugly one shown is the weak one.

    As far as removing it. If you have the later style you can give the plug a few hits with a hammer to shock the threads and the copper washer.A six point socket is always preferred.
