    Hello guys.

    I have replaced this engine on sailboat with same model,new engine mounts etc..,would like to know best way to measure angle of engine in engine room,,and alginment to cv-joint to aquadrive.

    From Yanmar itself there are just one general info for engine angle,i think 8 deegres,but would like to know procedure to do it properly,how to measure it and with what.

    Any help would be appreciate it,to learn more and to gain more experience,thank you very much boys.

    Hello Tony,how are you?

    Please see photo attached of old engine,new setup is the same,with new original Yanmar engine mounts,old one skipper throw away,that’s why i don’t know previous setup or height of engine itself.

    Since you are talking CV joints / aqua-drive, I think good very good pictures would be a pre-requisite before any good help would come. Close couple vs. a long shaft requires totally different “tools”..

    Carden shafts are not as forgiving as CV joints, so if you followed this diagram, you’d be totally good.
