    Hi Tony

I have the 230HP 4LHA-STP Yanmar motors in my Bertram 28 in which I am looking at replacing the engine mounts. I saw your reply to Bill Fuller’s comments in 2018 and you suggested the R&D PYI engine mounts with a capacity per mount of 120-410lbs. I am in Australia and R&D don’t supply that mount here and have suggested two alternatives, one with a capacity of 300-683lbs capacity per mount and the other with a capacity of 250-563lbs per mount. I was thinking of the lighter one but still concerned it may be too stiff .
    What is your thoughts.
    Regards
    Gary

    Thanks Tony

On the diagram is suggests , best for front only.

Will the SMX Purple 50 DUR be ok for the front and rear mounts, I have a ZF63A gearbox attached to the 4LHAM-STP 230 HP Yanmar motors.

    Regards

The mounts you have are made by Barry (for Yanmar) and have 5″ centers. Dimensionally, . out SMX Purple mounts will slide right it but our base is slightly wider. Drawing attached….You’d want the 50 DUR.

    Hi Tony

I see you advertise the SMX engine mounts. I was hoping not to drill new mounting holes which for the existing Barry mounts for the 4LHAM-STP 230 HP Yanmar motors are 128.5mm ( 5.06 Inches).
The R&D mounts you have over there suited for the 4LH motors have the mounting hole centres at 7.25 inches.
Is there an SMX mount suitable for the 4LH motors with the mount hole centres at 5.06 inches
In your opinion which would be the better mount for the 230 HP Yanmar motors the R&D or the SMX

    Regards

    Gary

I have jus ordered and received my second set of mounts from Tony. SBMar do their own, not sure if they have one to suit your engine. But I think they go lighter than the 6BTA.. so should have something. First set are great.. second set will make the boat very smooth.. as only one engine has been done šŸ™‚ Yes they cost a fair bit from the US, but still cheaper than here in Aus.. should get them landed for under $1000aud (you better hope you do as UPS chase the money now!)

Why not post some really good views of the isolators you have now?

Look at this to “see” what I need to offer “constructive help.
