Purchased a 24ft Reinell and I’d like to do a repower. I’ve got 3 6bts sitting around, and I’m dying to repurpose them. The boat came with a single 7.4L chevy and a Bravo 2 out drive. As it is, it does around 45mph WOT

Will a Bravo 2 hold up to 300+hp and 600+lbtq

Will a cummins spinning 3000-3500 rpm do 45mp

Hey Tony thanks for the reply! I figured the bravo wasn’t strong enough. Would a Merc racing outdrive be strong enough or would I need to go to a straight shaft or V drive?

Really enjoy your YouTube channel BTW!

Simple answer is NO, they DO not hold up at the numbers you are suggesting………………………………

250 HP at 2900-3000 RPM would be my self-imposed limit..

300HP at 3600-4000RPM is also OK for very light duty applications..

And that’s with the Diesel-X version Bravo II……………………………IMO, total junk, top to bottom, behind any Cummins B series engine. What they cannot handle is the torque during the “climb up on top” mode..
