Took off the after cooler and these breathers were behind them – what are these and should they be serviced or replaced?

    Thanks!

    Grant,
That is part of the installed Crankcase Ventilation system and the “filter” requires (at the minimum) cleaning annually. However, I concur with Bill, and you should read about the SMX Envirovent system, and replace what you have. Not only will it be a better system, but it will greatly simplify maintenance as the filter will be accessible instead of being behind your aftercooler.

    I’ve owned five 6BTA 370s.
On all five I’ve installed the SMX Envirovent System.
