Twin disc gear ratio difference

I have a 1979 43’ Hatteras with a pair of QSM11’s. The port transmission has a gear ratio of 2.44/1 and the starboard side is a 2.50/1.  <br /><br /> 1. is this a huge problem with strain on the port engine as I’m seeing a higher fuel burn on that side?<br /><br /> 2.  Can the gear itself be changed to match the starboard side?
