I recently purchased a 2003 Mikelson 50 with Twin Disc EC-250’s with electronic synchronizers and trolling valves. There are three stations and all controls are pitted and corroded. Finding identical units to replace them seems to not be viable. Is there a more current model that can replace this set up?  Thank you advance for any insight or input on this topic.

JP – do you own a Mikelson 50?  If so, email me at [email protected]. We should trade tips and info.

    JP,

There is about a 5 month lead time, but worth it IMO.  The new ones are stainless steel, so should not have the same pitting issues if kept clean and maintained.

Where did you source these at?

I am in the same ‘literal’ boat.

    Thanks

Thank you Tony.  It turns out I can swap the 3 units out with new EC 300 and an adapter harness in a plug and play approach. This runs about $7K for the 3 stations  and harnesses.  I really like the Glendinning controls, but suspect a full replacement from Twin Disc to Glendinning would run me considerably more than $7K.

Twin Disc controls are very good, but at least in S. Calif.  support is sketchy at best.. Yours are really early units/design, and unless you have the big bucks and have excellent support in your area, I’d look at Glendinning or ZF……………………….. Support after the sale is key to anything like this.
