Transmission Lag in Detent

ZF 280 A, 50 hours since last change. Inspected magnet and screen on aft end all good. Port side has developed a 5-7 second lag in the detent position fwd and rev. Shifters are Volvo electronic. Also cruising above 9 knots there are 1-2 second skips no rpm change, these skips are random. The transmissions are mounted on Volvo TAMD 74P EDC 480’s 2001 models. The last oil sample was fine but did show a trace of aluminum. Any help with diagnosis and steps to resolve the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds very much like  a Volvo Control system issue.. Post  clear pics of the top /control valves on the gears
