My QSC 8.3 has developed a intermitant flat spot when rolling power on.  Suddenly rpm stops climbing. Advancing throttel further has no effect and suddenly an explosive rush of power. Happened three times in 600nm trip. Engine has 1320 hours , uses no oil and tempatures all in range. Boost pressure however varies up to 10# at constant RPM. No obvious boost leaks but suspect condensation drain might be stuck open. Could it effect boost pressure build or stability.

    Thanks.

A bad condensation drain could do that if indeed you are getting a 10PSI drop from the leak — Cap it for a few trips and see if that solves the issue–Remember pressures in there can be  20PSI ++
