    Good Day All,
I’ve had an issue with my TD gear stuck in ahead position. Here’s what I’ve done so far to rectify the problem with no luck. Hopefully someone can help me out with my issue. First we thought it was a screwed gear, which still may be, but want to rule out all other possibilities before purchasing new trans.

Problem: Stuck in Forward gear. MG5065A TD Electrical shift.

    ā€¢ Changed Processor
    ā€¢ Checked Fuses in Processor
    ā€¢ Changed Control at helm
ā€¢ Rewired from harness to Transmission. with a solid 12Volts now.
ā€¢ However, if I push the little red cap valve on the gearbox control valve, the gearbox will go to neutral.
ā€¢ Have not yet Checked voltage at electrical gear control valve.
ā€¢ Swapped over the selectors. Starts in reverse.
ā€¢ Changed to older selectors and she will go reverse and neutral but not ahead at all.
    ā€¢ Totally Stomped!

Tomorrow I plan to swap both control valves over from the port engine and try on the starboard gear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All. Thank very much Tony. We have found the issue. Sticky solenoid valve was the issue. Took old ones out of another transmission we have on spare and all worked out well.

Buy a complete new solenoid valve assembly…………………….If you swapped FWD to REV solenoids, and it followed the solenoid, that’s the issue——–Or, did I read your post wrong?
