Greetings: After much fussing we finally removed the Stbd starter on my bayliner 4087. Needless to say it was a challenge and in order accomplish the end we removed the air hose from the turbo and stood on our heads. The issue I know has frustrated numerous folk. But my question deals with the mount system used for the Magnetic switch. Surely the switch can be mounted in a manner not to impede the removal of the starter. Your pictures do show this plate. It is attached to the starter mount on the bottom bolt. Any help is appreciated. Regards Bill

You can safely remount it in a more convenient location/orientation……………Only two cautions:

    1) Do not mount it upside down–Why? A bouncing boat can, in some circumstances, cause the plunger inside to drop down & crank the starter motor intermittently.. Lots of truckers learned that the hard way

    2) Hopefully you do not have to extent the larger wires on the bigger studs
