I’ve got two of the SMX Turbocator gauges I’m installing, and I want to confirm what I’m seeing in the instructions. The paper instructions and the online ones in the SMX store both show the same thing: there’s no 12vdc power required for the gauge, only for the light.

One reason I’m asking is because there’s a big + stamped into the back of the housing near the terminal for the yellow wire. Snooping around the interwebs, I found schematics from different manufacturers of pyro gauges that do require 12vdc. Do the thermocouples generate the only electric signal/source the SMX gauges need?

    Thx, and Happy Thanksgiving!

NO 12VDC to the gauge except for the light–The probe generates the power needed to run the gauge from HEAT–Do a test —————Hook it up and heat the tip of the probe with a propane torch–Hooked up right the gauge works–Hooked up wrong, the gauge tries to go backwards
