Thanks to the SBMAR forum, I was able to save a bunch of time and money.
My QSC 8.3 started throwing codes (2256 Prime Pump High Error and 559 Low Fuel Pressure). We had to limp in at 1100 rpm’s. While heading in, some searching was done online to find out what the codes were for. There was a thread here that helped us to identify that we most likely had a bad fuel primer pump. It must be a common thing to go bad because the local to me dealer had 12 on the shelf and I was the second call of the day to inquire about one.
So, for $380 and for hours of time I was able to get back running the next day. If we would have had Cummins come out, they would have charged 8hr minimum to troubleshoot and probably throw parts at it to fix.
Thanks again SBMAR Forum
