Presumably engine hours are stored in the ECM. Are idle time, total fuel used and total lifetime engine revolutions, also, please? However, only engine hours are displayed on the Smartcraft instrument. Is it possible to display the other parameters on the Smartcraft, especially total lifetime engine revolutions, which are perhaps more meaningful than engine hours.

I have an old QC5100 Quickcheck, but only know how to check for faults.

    Thanks Tony.

Thanks Tony. However for the time being, I would prefer to achieve my current requirement with the equipment I already have i.e. display total engine revolutions and if possible, total fuel used on the Smart craft display. Is that possible on the , please? Even if it means losing the ability to display one of the other parameters. By the way, when I try to see all the available info on myQC5100 Quickcheck, nearly everything is shown as not available.

You are basically Driving Blind.. It’s sad that Cummins & Mercury would have ever sold such a “display? on a world class engine electronic engine that has so much information available that you could have access to thru the J-1939 output of the ECM.. Literally 100’s of parameters and dozens of them are extremely useful for troubling shooting issues on the engines. It amazing to me how Mercury , AKA “SmartCrap” could FU something so good —

If you like your boat and engine(s) save some bucks and upgrade to a nice SAE 1939 based color display system ……………….Besides being able to “see” your engine as to what is going on, you’ll go from about 50 wires and over a dozen plugs / connections to 10 wires in a small harness and one plug between the engine and the helm station.

    Hello,

By pressing the mode button you can go through the other data.

If nothing happens, it could come from the configuration of the gauge itself. Indeed you can instruct the gauge to display or not each parameter. You can refer to the gauge user manual for the config process.

Your ECM will have all that data–You just have to have the right instrumentation to read it.. Post a picture of your display
