QSM11 nema 2k hook up for data to Furuno mfd

I just finished installing the new Furuno TzT3 units on my 45 Hatteras with QSM11’s. We want to get the engine data to the mfd’s as well. Seaboard recommended using the adapter but I can’t find any information on how it works and compatibility with our engines. Can someone please explain if it’s a simple plug into the d box and run to backbone or is there additional programming needed? It seems pretty simple but wanted to make sure before buying expensive parts to throw at it. Thank you in advance.
