    Hi All,

I have just put in 2 x QSc 8.3 with v 1 smart craft. I have 12v going out the dc bridge connection and nothing to the dash by the looks.  I have nothing to the key, no start, not gauges or smart craft. I gave up in the dark and will go again in the morning. I have changed the key to a different key switch but I don’t think I have it wrong. All fuses on the harness look good.

I assume I have got something disconnected and will take my lumps if I can be pointed in the right direction.

     Thanks Luke

    Tony,
Half a can on contact cleaner and the throttle is fixed.

It looks like the non starting on the stb engine was due to the hp plungers on the fuel pump being stuck in due to being storage for years. I explains why the fuel rail had no fuel I guess. Tomorrow will tell that story when I reassemble and try to start again..

    Thanks Luke

    Hi Tony,
At idle I see 100% , full ahead or astern I see 100%. There is no change from 100%. I cant remember if it checked
    neutral idle, but will today.

Should I try swapping port and stb throttle at the ee4 to see if it follows it?

    thanks Luke

100% throttle? Move the throttles full stroke engine off/ ign on, watching the throttle % screen——————-What do you see?

    Hi Corey,
    Its a 24v boat. Yes I am using a 24-12 converter.

ETC- EE4-yes the 3 pin connector

No there is no terminating resistor on either. Thanks for the links.

I also noticed that stb throttle shows 100%, this engine has not started yet. Mainly fuel issues I think.

    thanks Luke

    Configuration

Let’s start at the beginning… is your boat a 12VDC or 24VDC boat? If you’re a 12VDC boat, I am assuming you’re using the DC/DC converter to power the engine-side electronics, etc.?

Is your lift pump 12V or 24V?

What are you using for throttle input? ETC with a mechanical lever or ???? What’s plugged into the 40-pin harness throttle connector (3-pin Packard connector)?

Do you have a terminating resistor on the 40-pin harness for the backup throttle?

Cummins Marine SmartCraft Backup Throttle Terminating Resistor

You’ll need a WIF terminating resistor if you’re not going to use a sensor on the fuel filters:

Cummins Marine Water in Fuel (WIF) Terminating Resistor

Do you have actual FAULT CODES you can see?

    Hi Corey,
Sorry I thought I replied to this a few days ago. Since then I have a found a few more things positive and negative.

My mechanic said the lift pumps were running too slow. They were metered and we had 20v .
I had Cummins out today to adjust the ECM and they say there is no change now like in the old days and have upgraded the Ecm
to the latest and the pump runs slow like before. Cummins say the ecm pump frequency modulator is stuffed and I need 2 x new ecm’s.
I cant see both engines failing the same?

After that I gave the pump 24v and it ran like its meant too. I then manged to start the port engine. It has low remote
    throttle and wif .
There is no plug on the throttle. or jumper on the wif.

I found a QSB bias plug values at 330 and 2.2 will this work?

Any thoughts on my next step?

The Cummins mechanic mentioned a lift pump bypass line, so I was thinking give the pump 24v
for 5 seconds then the engine can run on the bypass? Is that feasible or just not the go

    Alarms…

What alarms are you dealing with? Should be easy to sort out as you’ll typically see things like WIF or low coolant alarms that need to be dealt with…

All sorted just a few alarms to deal with.
