qsc 8.3 600hp Stbd engine temp comes up idle like it has a load on it.

I noticed recently that the stbd engine runs about 20 to 30 degrees warmer at idle than the port.  Stbd seems come up rather quickly as if there were a load on the engine.  while running, they are both 172 to 174 degrees at 3400 and 3500 they go up to 176.  I check the load on both, port is is 12% and stbd 14% at idle. oil pressure is about 55 on port and 50 on stbd at startup. stbd does run about 5 to 7 lbs lower than the port. any thoughts?

Interesting…those RPM numbers seem awfully high for that motor but could be wrong and I am sure someone will correct me soon.

I’d start with the sensor (maybe swap them to see if that makes a diff) and then begin to look for restrictions in water flow.

At least the op temps at speed are in range.
