What size battery would be recommended for this engine?

Currently, there is an AGM 8D in place and I would like to replace it with something smaller and lighter. At the very least it would be nice to replace it with two smaller batteries.

This is a dedicated start battery and I’d like to know what is reasonably the smallest battery combination that will perform well.

The battery is located in the ER and the boat is in the PNW. The temps are generally mild.

Thanks Corey. That is very helpful. 2 x 24 are a whole lot easier to move than the 8D.

    2x Group 24

If you are space constrained and need to fit two smaller batteries within the same space the 8D consumed, then you’re best approach is to use two group 24 high-end batteries… because they are the same width as the current 8D.
