i have set a 2007 qsb 5.9’s in my formula 40 pc that Rob has seen personally … overall have no issues with them and they run great .. ive have several situations where i will be running and lose the digital throttle control . All 4 lights on the throttle start to blink and i have no propulsion at all ..

i have to then shut down the engines and then restart them to get propulsion back … happens very sporadically and sometimes not at all. as i said engines fine … just lose propulsion … very weird and can happen when im going slow or going fast …

hope someone has an idea .. ive gone down and played with the throttle plugs to make sure they are seated good and from what i can tell they are … could they be dirty and losing contact ?

    Follow Corey's advice

Sounds like you might have Glenndining controls…. the four blinking lights mean th control head has a code and you have to follow proceedure to retrieve. Follow the troubleshoot and code lookup proceedure. Glenndining provides great customer support for their products as well.

Post your results and lots of people will help you.

Hello Ray. I thought of your boat as I flew in / out of LGA earlier this month. Do you have a pic of your control and the model info that Corey asked for? Have you looked up what the specific flashing pattern is indicating? Did you do the connections cleaning and CorrosionX with no changes?

Rob has been to my boat and has seen it ..its the electronic control helm station .. has one wire going out of the throttle and one going into the control box … it happens sporadically .. happened yesterday 2 times going out to anchor and didint happen after that again at all ..

i got the spray that rob suggested today have yet to put it on .. but i notice that when it happens the engines are fine … no temp issues .. everything looks normal .. if i just put the throttle back in neutral and then cycle the keys it will come right back …

    very weird ….

i will take some pics this week of the pins any ideas would be helpful

    Control system…

What kind of control system do you have? Is it a FLY BY WIRE system? Glendinning?

If so, those “flashing” lights mean something, typically the flashing pattern will indicate what the FAULT condition is… i.e. loss of connection OR???

Yes, you can spray and clean using a tooth brush

CorrosionX works well for cleaning and dielectric

yes engine stay running fine … no issue just fall back to neutral and t 4 lights on the throttle flash port , active , warm sync and starboard …

ive had to go down and reseat the cables a few time but the only way to get them back online is by cycling the power … i was thinking loose connection maybe corrosion .. whats the remedy for that .. will post pics when i head down to boat tomorrow of the pins ..

When you say “lose propulsion” do the engines stay running and just fall back to neutral?
Have you disconnected the plugs and inspected the pins for green/corrosion?
Post some pics of your controls and display.
