Hello,   sorry if this has been answered before but the search function is not working on the site for me. My friend purchased used 2003 sea ray 39 with a pair of Cummins QSB5.9 380s. One of them is leaking a ton of oil right at the oil return check valve, but it is the second part and it does not match the imagine in Tony’s tips. Can anyone help me locate this part and how to install? I’m pretty sure the leak is coming from here but it may be the crankcase or oil pan. Starting small here…   photo is from opposite engine. Can’t get a good photo of the other one that’s leaking.   thanks in advance!

Hi, i would recommend having a mobile machinist (unless you are good at cutting a thread in the block) come out and thread the block so that you can cap off the hole and then install Tony’s kit. Not sure if routing the drain hose to a different location would be an option.

Thank you. If I end up routing the return line to a different area or going with Tony’s kit how do I plug the hole where this is “pressure fit” into? I would still need to thread it?

I ran into that problem a few years ago. That Y connector is a pressure fit into the block (no threads) Cummins did not stock it and they said it had been discontinued. I ended up cutting threads into the block and bypassing the Y pipe . There is lots of room to install the check valve directly into the block. Then i had a new longer drain hose made up to make up the difference . In hind sight i should have removed all the Walker aircrap and went with Tony’s kit.

    Stem adapter

    Hey Tony,

I spoke with walker airsep this morning and they sent me the whole kit however I don’t see that specific adapter like in the photo. It’s highlighted with a yellow circle. It’s after the return check valve a little Y fitting going into the block but the other part is a stem that leads to nowhere. Do you guys have that specific part? Is that a threaded hole into the block?

    thanks again!

You have to buy the valve from Walker  –Not a Cummins part.

The fix is bloddy knuckles and some nasty words
