I recently installed the CCV system, and since then one of my motors it pushing oil out on top instead of through the hose? Any idea what would cause this? I changed over from the Walker system for no other reason than because it seemed like a solid modification. Meaning, I didn’t have any problems as far as I know.

    Thank you-

Thanks Rob, mine did have the holes but there were miniscule piercings more than holes. I opened them up just a bit, I’ll report back if its still pushing oil. The o-ring fitting on top seems tight, so we’ll see.

Not sure what you mean by spill over height? Ive owned this boat for a year, so there has been much cleaning and servicing to get it to my liking but Im still working out a few gremlins. The exhaust side of the turbos were some what restricted when I took them apart, but have since been cleaned up. I had some other issues last summer where I had to drive around at low-mid RPM and I’m sure that didn’t help anything. Elbows looked surprisingly good inside and have since been pressure tested.

This is a 90% fresh water boat (NOW), but its lived its life in some salt for sure. Just addressing some of those issues-

In the attached pic you can see the vent hole Kevin was referring to. Good looking engine. I notice no riser and the engine looks to sit low in the engine room. How is your spillover height? Ever remove the elbow to inspect it and the turbo? Those factory elbows are not forever items and don’t let a clean exterior fool you as to what is going on inside it. Here’s a shot of an OEM elbow that looks as new on the outside but the interior is far from it..

Pushing oil through breather with CCV

    Hey Dallas,

Looks like you may have disturbed the o-ring on that fitting into the valve cover when installing the hose. Best to probably take the fitting out, make sure the o-ring is not compromised and re-seat it. If the o-ring has been compromised or you continue to see oil from this location, look into getting a new o-ring.

Also check that there is a relief hole in the collection bottle, usually in the the top below where the cap threads on, otherwise it won’t drain properly.

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks,
    Kevin
