Looking for a primary bulk and 2nd filter system.

Min requirement is 120 gal/hr flow. There is a double water sept. and a on engine filter now.

For the primary bulk, the FS1218 ? can flow up to 250 gal/hr, seems like a good choice to me..

Looking for a 2nd stage with similar rating? (250 gal/hr) The FS1000 is about 88 gal/hr from what I can see and would like/need something bigger..

    Have a recommendation??

    Thanks in advance!!

in the beggining of the summer i installed the double double fuel filter setup provided by Sbmar and its awesome as i no longer am fighting the racors. i still have crud in my tanks but the filter change is a breeze especially with the priming bulb setup. I run twin qsm11 cummins 670hp each and have no issue as far as fuel flow. the only the i changed in the setup was i went with a bigger ball valve/shut off valve upstream of each filter system than the ones provided. very happy with this setup and next plan to plumb in a macerator pump to chew up all of the crud i have in my tanks so it will actuall make it into the filters without clogging the inlet ports. hope this helps!

Iā€™ve never heard of using a macerator to get the crud flowing, but it sounds like a workable solution, as long as the pump can handle that.
    Anybody ever tried it?

Hi, just wondering what the recommendation would be as far as replacing my Racor, I like the idea of double filtration. I have a 320 hp 3208.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks! Tom

Reading one of Tony’s tips on filters mentions using it but maybe not anymore…(epoxy)

Good to know on the 19513, same capacities I’m assuming? on GPH and “crud” holding?

Also I should ask, what you recommend for a filter for a small 6 kw Northern lights gen?

    Thanks all in advance..

FS1218 and FS19513 have different threads. The FS19513 replaced the FS1213.

Epoxy for fittings? Why not a high quality pipe dope, like Rectorseal Tru Blu.

    FS1218 compared to FS19513

Thanks for advise, will go with 3/4″.

Need to get ordered but wondering what is the difference between 1218 and 19513? Leaning towards the 1218 but what to double check before ordering.

Also, what epoxy is best for fittings? Like that idea.

Flow rater of the DD system

    .3 BAR = 8.6 Hg

At a 110 GPH flow rate————————–The factory specs are well under 50% of that..

Personally, I’d be running #12 or 3/4″ ID line from the tank to the filters, regardless of all the rest. ..

Are you running both engines off one filter system? or one for each engine?

Agree they are great filters, running the FS1218 now on a QSB and its perfect!

Just concerned with the bigger flow and keeping up…

    Thanks for input!

What exact engine? Current ID and approx lengths of your fuels lines to and from the current filter set-up?

The flows rates for the Fleetguard filters is based on a measured pressure drop (such as 90 GPH @ 1.5″ Hg) and is not necessary how much they can flow. It used as a reference # only.
