    I have twin 4BT engines

When the engines are COLD,  I have noticed that on my starboard engine has some residual pressure (slight) when I remove the radiator cap.

On my port engine I have NO pressure when I remove the cap…

I have NOT seen any significant loss of coolant and I do not have any white smoke out the exhaust either.  Everything seems pretty normal and temps are running normal at 170 ish on both sides (I have 160T/stats)

I guess I need to check better for any possible leaks but this is a little baffling at the moment

I was thinking further along Jason’s suggestion about the caps that perhaps something is amiss with one of the coolant bottles or tubing..

Yes Rob  I do have a recovery bottle for each engine.

Now that I am watching it closer I will see if any coolant is going missing on my next longer run.  So far I only logged a few hrs this season

    Try this

You might have one cap that has a good seal and one that is on its way out. Try swapping caps from one engine to the other and see if you problem changed location. Then replace the bad cap. I had one cap that failed with an engine that was less than two years old (it just happens). Very easy to troubleshoot on a twin engine boat.

How do I start a new forum topic?

I created an account. When I try to “post a question” the website brings me to a page that says “Create a new Topic”, it shows 3 examples of how to post photos, and it immediately logs me out of the website, every time.

Neither symptom is significant..  I have see it both ways and also a negative pressure at times
