Hello, I have a 1990 6bt 210 CPL742 serial number 21049752 I am trying to find the pipe size for the pipe that holds the expansion tank to the thermostat housing it is part number 555538. I am in Australia, I have rung Cummins south pacific and they told me it would be X USA or just make my own. My boat is located 1 hours drive away and I cant get there until the weekend which is when I hoped to replace the one that is leaking, does anybody know what the ID of this pipe is? or the OD of the thermostat housing / expansion tank, thanks guys, Ian

    Hi Ian ,

Corey asked me to jump in here , Cummins part number 555538 is a plain hose, 1 .75″ ID x 3″ long. Nothing fancy soft -wall exhaust will work perfect ….

    Hope this helps šŸ™‚

Hi Corey, this is the part #8 which is a cummins part number 555538 it connects the expansion tank to the thermostat housing, I can not buy this part in Australia. I need to know the internal diameter of the pipe, or the external diameter of the thermostat housing so I can buy a length of pipe and cut it to size. I have found a description of the thermostat housing that says is a 45mm diameter, but it would be nice if someone could confirm this, thank you very much

Ian, any way you can post a picture of this part so we can see what it is you’re referring to? I’m sure we can source the part and get the dimensions but we’ll need to “see” it before we can do anything…
