    I need to re apply oil pan heater on my motor. What type of silicon or adhesive do you suggest. Thank you

    My recommendation would be to clean all as new and start from scratch with a new pan heater with the adhesive back as supplied from the manufacturer. For the price of a new unit I don’t think it is worth trying to “re-glue” it. If the heater is not FULLY adhered it will burn itself out and it could start to come off over time and is not the most visible thing for daily checks. Tony gave you an answer specific to your question but maybe he did not recommended replacement because we never want the forums to be a “sales thing”….

    I must admit, I have never been asked that before………..But I was was to guess, I’d use use a silicone based gasket sealer (made by Permatex or?).. …………………But unlike the initial install, you will have to support the pad TIGHT to the pan for at least 24 hours.. Squash out as much silicone as you can ( make it very THIN) so to make the heat transfer as good as possible.
