I tracked down an oil leak… it’s coming from the component (not sure what it’s called) that belt guard is bolted to at the vertical seam just above the lower starboard bolt, just barely above where that vertical seam meets the horizontal oil pan seam. It looks like the oil pan was installed with RTV. How can I go about fixing this leak… should I torque the lower belt guard bolts down more? Will this require removal of that “component” and then reinstallation with RTV (or is it a gasket)?

By the way, this is NOT a timing cover leak. It’s leaking from the thing that the timing cover is bolted to.

Pull out each suspect bolt.. Clean all.. Check for proper bolt length–If right, coat the threads and washer face with RectorSeal #5–Re-install and tighten to spec based on the diameter……………………………….Then WWM..
