    Hello,

I just recently purchased an Enviro Crankcase ventilation kit. After installing my Cummins 370 developed an oil leak (slobber) at the opposite side of the turbo from the air cleaner. The air cleaner itself also shows of some oil saturation. Is this a normal effect from the ccv? Everything else seems perfect, lots less smoke after hours of trolling also. Thanks for any advice.Ā

    Old engine Pics

    1. 12 quarts cold at dock.
    2. Engine previously vented from the vent tube directly into the bilge via a short hose.
    3. Never have removed the air side for a good cleaning.Ā

Tony, thanks a bunch for taking a look at it. Seems from above conversation just may need to pull the turbo and take it in for service. I was thinking a seal, but have little knowledge of the units inner workings.

Yes-pics suck, but I kinda see that things areĀ  generally OK as to the install..

1——-Exactly how much oilĀ  (in quarts) is in your oil pan, sitting at the dock engine off ?Ā Ā

2——–where & howĀ  did you engineĀ  “vent” before ?

3——- Have you ever removed the air side of the turbo housing for a through clean up inside?

4——-You could have lost your turbo seal by coinkidink?Ā  Ā The back side of yourĀ  turbo’s air sideĀ  Ā and gear below it looks like its been leaking oil for quiteĀ  a while

Picture of engine before install. Tony, please note I have not had to add oil and the boat runs 20 to 30 miles daily. Nothing is showing in the puke bottle. Engine compartment is staying way cleaner except for the turbo dribble. Thanks!

    Hi Tony,

Please note I’m not having to add any oil and she runs daily as a commercial vessel.

Ā Do you have pics of your engine before you installed the CCV?
