    • hello everyone, I have two cummins qsb 5.9 engines, just 650hrs, year 2008, with vessel view 2.0…I have a serious electronics problem, I live in st barthelemy, french island and cummins France does not want to move , I have no cummins agents nearby. My problem is that the left engine wants to start, smoke, compression, diesel on arrival, HP pump checked, new diesel filter.. in short in very good condition, my mechanic is dedicated and to the cummins computer but stuck because it is in the process of getting the new license. we are sure that the problem is electrical but invert ecu, right and left card, the right motor works very well and the left motor still does not start. it seems that the injection authorization has stopped, or shifted.. we have changed all the engine sensors but nothing is happening.. it is blocked. this problem appeared several times, 1 alarm data j1939, then impt low, then it restarted for a few hours, then nothing again. I am completely lost, how could I get help knowing that it has been down since 7 weeks and we are in the middle of the hurricane season. I am very angry with cummins France which has no agents in the French islands. I hope to have other help or avenue to explore. sorry for my broken english.. Sébastien

For any help to come your way, you must put my eyes in your engine and on your current instruments. I need to see really good pictures of your engines from all angles and all perspectives.. Everything clear and in focus as if I was in your engine room crawling around. Be sure I see the complete ECM side of the engine, the aftercooler and the exhaust system.

Send all the pictures to me direct as .jpg attachments – about .5 to 1Mb each…. I’ll add what is applicable to your post

Then I need to see what instruments/digital displays your have. Turn them on when you have the picture (s) .

Any alarms codes? You said have replaced all your sensors—Point them out, one by one. ..

Have you considered swapping the ECU from P to S?

What were the symptoms before this happened—All of a sudden or? Other questions: Engine serial number

What was the last time your aftercooler was removed from the engine and serviced on the bench per my protocol ?

    Start with this.
